WHAT IS IN A NAME? PLENTY IF VOTES ARE INVOLVED.
Declaring the Benares Hindu University (BHU)to be an IIT may mean trying to change its name for removing the "hated" word "HINDU" from its name as the Congress Govt. had earlier tried in the 1960s. A clash had ensued by the agitated students of BHU as there was no plan to rename the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) by removing the "favourite" word from the midle and calling it Aligarh University at that time. But the arch-appeasers are back at the helm and anything is possible. We have to be aware.
