It is politicians and religio-political leaders who keep society divided on caste or religious lines so that they can fish in troubled waters of their creation by stating that there is only one God instead of saying God is one. They have also kept the divide festering by NOT having a Uniform Civil Code for all Indians. All public displays of one's religion should be banned as the relation between a man and his God is a private one. By making it a public one we create divisions in society which is actually politics disguised as religion where so-called religious leaders in a nexus with professional politicians share the spoils of vote-banks that assures them (or they hope so)of block votes of a particular community or caste whose leaders exhort them to vote in line with the leaders' choice and gain.
