The Bible tells us in Chapter 11 of the Book of Genesis that the Tower of Babel was a structure built by a united humanity to reach the heavens. Having been made in the likeness of God man had it in his heart to be like God. However, God decided to stop this project by making them speak in different tongues, which resulted in utter confusion as humankind was now speaking in different languages. They were unable to communicate with each other. Soon there were divisions amongst the community, as their new identity based on their mother tongue became the rallying point of uniqueness and perceived superiority of one tribe over the other. The divide became so intractable that these tribes soon began to scatter and settle down all over the earth in order to preserve their racial identity.
The word Babel is derived from the Hebrew word Bavel, which means to confuse and confound. Today, it is the media and its twin the hectoring politician who keeps us all confused, confounded and compartmentalised in our present media dictated world. A world, which has itself, become the Tower of Babel where blissfully within its chambers we are too busy talking at each other rather than to each other.
,,,,& the way ahead in our times.
The blog should appeal to those who are informed, but not self-opinionated; iconoclastic but not biased; witty and irreverent but not abusive; will attack issues but not personalities; well read but not brained washed by what they read or who writes them. Concerned with what is being said and not who is saying it. When we surrender our right to be different, we lose the privilege to be free.

Just as the politician runs after our votes, the media runs after our mindshare like the toilet soap manufacturer. The electronic media looks at the TRP ratings whilst the print media stares at the circulation numbers. Both are not averse to fudging any statistic in order to have their way. We can rely on all these entities at our own peril.
